Probed By Tentacles (Monster Seductions) by Wren Winter ★★★☆☆

A woman fighting off a tentacle monster with sharp pencils while it pulls off her clothes

It's Sailor Moon verses the evil tentacle monster!

Selene has just finished her first college class, she is a perfectly ordinary 18 year old girl with dreams of a rich husband.

A Plutonian Wife by Kenneth Buff★★★★☆

Beautiful drawing of a woman with blue hair set against a blue background

I love free super short scifi gender expectation swap stories! Kristoff is a rich Earth guy sick of being loved for his money but dismissed for his average looks. Where can a bloke go to be appreciated as a man and not a wallet? Why Pluto of course!

Hannah-Beast by Jennifer McMahon ★★★★☆

Person in a clown costume being set on fire and screaming

Please. Don’t let them do this to me.

But Amanda had only pointed.

That’s her. That’s Hannah-beast.

This was brutal. Sociopathic mean girls, murder, unrelenting guilt, and one long wet carving knife to end it all.

The Werewolf's Christmas Wish (Nocturne Falls #4.6) by Kristen Painter ★★★☆☆

Jaime Ray Newman looking up longingly with the caption All I Want For Christmas Is You in Pink and Cream
Yes, it’s a cheesy got-my-man-for-Christmas story. But I still liked it because it was also a beautiful woman telling a man she didn’t care that he was broke and picking himself back up, she wanted the whole package. The whole hot-as-hell werewolf fireman package, lol.

Secrets at Midnight (Psy-Changeling #12.5) by Nalini Singh ★★★★★

Emma Stone smiling and crying

I do not read books looking to cry but sometimes great authors, like Nalini Singh, just sneak one by me.

The Litany of Earth (The Innsmouth Legacy #0.5) by Ruthanna Emrys ★★★★★

A man stands facing the Elder Gods in a lightning storm the caption says What our religion tells us is that the gods created life to try and make meaning It's ultimately hopeless and even gods die but the effort is real Will always have been real even when everything is over and no one remembers
This is the best mythos story I have ever read. Ms. Emrys, you have made me a believer! I must now read everything the gods have bid you write.

Read it for yourself:

Hunter of the Tide (The Kraken #3) by Tiffany Roberts ★★★★☆

Red female Kraken in the ocean looking dangerous and beautiful

I read this as a sultry part of Merfolk May.

There are sexually aggressive women and then there are kraken women. Once Rhea decides on Randall she will beat the crap out of anyone who gets in her way.

Predator: If It Bleeds

The Predator in his mask
Predator is one of my favorite movies so I had to read this the second it came out!  I was not disappointed, this was a consistently good time.

Off Limits: Tales of Alien Sex

Young happy woman with an absolutely crazy look on her face

The Reality Trip by Robert Silverberg  ★★★★☆

“She is a cosmic nuisance, but I fear I’m getting to like her.”

Part meaningful story of loneliness, part SNL skit, I burst out laughing at least twice.

Maybe I’m an asshole and I should have seen the despair in more even terms but deep levels of crazy amuse me.

It’s How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days with crab aliens.  How could I not laugh?

The Starlit Wood

female gunfighter painted with her hat low enough to hide her face with wings of white fire behind her back
Penny For A Match, Mister? by Garth Nix ★★★★★

“She poured the dregs of the coffee over his boots with some contempt and walked out.”

I’m a fan of strong female characters, vengeance stories, and weird westerns so this suited me down to my toes!
