The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers #1) by Becky Chambers ★★★☆☆

A black and white photo of Kathy Bates from misery with the caption Millenials your stories need to be stories first agenda second
This was the Most Millennial Thing I’ve ever read. A sitcom in space strongly advocating a new normal.

Why settle for a human woman when you can have a boobless fish-scaled chick with a voice box?

Why hook up with a boring human guy when you can be with a feathered lizard fem that loves gang bangs?

Actually, like, why are you being such a bodyist? Love is more than flesh so just take off your clothes and let your special computer glow on you.

Who’s the weirdo of the story? The white guy.

Who are the bad guys of the story? The conformist who cannot deal with the emersion of a third sex.

Good SciFi often has a point of view but I haven’t been hammered this hard since Aurora.

It had some humor, and wasn’t a drag to read, but it was agenda lightly covered in the softest of SciFi.
